About the Artist Laura Buss

Laura Buss began studying painting (and photography) at the School of Visual Arts, New York, in 1990.  From there her craft took her into varied directions, including tattooing and stained glass, to return to a heavy focus on oil painting in 2005 and to the Academy of Art in San Francisco, where she is currently based.  She spent some years combining her love of travel and the outdoors with her love of art in plein air landscape painting, and is now focused on more figurative work.

She is currently working on the "Bundles" project (images coming as soon as they are completed) of burial depictions, and also does portraiture when commissioned.
