About the Artist

Laura Buss started painting landscapes out of a love for the great outdoors, and a life in art. She studied painting (and photography) at the School of Visual Arts (New York) in 1991. From there her craft took her into varied directions, including tattooing and stained glass, to return to oil painting in 2005. Based in San Francisco, she paints en plein air close to home in the Bay Area as well as in her travels.
"The allure of plein air painting lies in the time spent outdoors, alone with the hawks and the gophers. The finished paintings are an added bonus. Considering the current political and environmental crises, it is more important than ever to enjoy our natural spaces, and to expose others to the beauty that is all around us. Care follows appreciation. Please enjoy and support our public parks and natural places!"
